As a co-founder of REAL, he acquired exclusive rights for derivatives to a comprehensive database of commercial real estate transactions maintained by Real Capital Analytics, Inc. Mr. Wolf with his colleagues brought the database to the MIT Center for Real Estate to construct indices so that institutions could track commercial real estate exposure without owning the underlying asset. They then arranged for Moody's to brand these indices. Finally, through REAL, they forged a partnership with State Street Bank and Trust to augment institutional distribution and custodial support for the indices and their related financial products. Real was named 2008 entity of the year by Real Estate Investment and Finance.
